SEND Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School | Oldham | April Start
Milk Education are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a mainstream Primary School in Oldham on a long-term basis starting in April.
You will be joining a supportive and inclusive school environment that is committed to helping every child develop confidence, independence and achieve their full potential. The Role
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND to help them access the curriculum and remain engaged in learning.
2. Support pupils working towards EHCP targets, following guidance from the class teacher and SENCo.
3. Implement positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement, independence and emotional regulation.
4. Assist with classroom preparation, monitoring progress and providing feedback on pupil development and wellbeing.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
5. Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) desirable.
6. 6–12 months experience supporting children with SEND in a UK school setting.
7. Knowledge of supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs.
8. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
9. Strong communication skills and a patient, supportive approach.
