Asthe Matron you will be focused on patient safety, patient experience andquality assurance frameworks. You must be able to demonstrate a compassionateapproach to the care of patients and the public, whilst also possessing theability to ensure robust clinical operational demands are met.
Thepost holder will act as the professional Nurse Lead providing clinicaladvice, leadership development, monitoring and management of all nursingresources to facilitate excellent nursing practice ensuring the delivery ofhigh quality, patient centred care.
Weare looking for an individual with extensive Band 7 experience. You will be aprofessional role model with high standards, demonstrating flexibility,visibility, and excellent communication skills to patients, families, staffand play a key role in influencing and supporting wider strategic drivers.
Main duties of the job
The Matron will support the ADON inproviding dynamic, professional and operational management and leadership forwards/departments and specialist nurses.
The post holder will facilitate,support and empower wards/departments to manage their areas effectively,supporting the development of their ward staff and their services to ensureappropriate systems and processes are in place to ensure the continuity of safeand effective care at all times.
The post holder will support thedelivery of the Trust's overall objectives and service priorities, with aparticular focus on nursing practice, patient experience and involvement in thedevelopment of services and standards of cleanliness and quality care.
The post holder will be accessibleand a visible presence, advising and supporting ward/department, patients andtheir families to ensure effective patient care across the whole patientpathway.

Experience
* Extensive experience of working at a senior level of band 7 or above within nursing/midwifery.
* Experience of managing a ward or department.
* Demonstrable experience of leading change & problem solving.
* Experience of standard setting and audit.
* Experience of influencing in clinical practice.
* Experience in undertaking research and/or publication.
Knowledge and Awareness
* Demonstrate specialist knowledge of clinical speciality underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience.Current professional and health service priorities.

Qualifications
