About the Role
We are recruiting an
Engineering Manager
at our Coupar Angus site. The site has an excellent track record of internal progression and provides strong opportunities for training and career development.
This is a key
role responsible for ensuring engineering excellence across the site, supporting production through effective maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvement. You will work closely with Operations and be a senior escalation point for engineering issues.
As Engineering Manager, you will oversee a team of Engineers and Team Leads on the day shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the point of escalation for major machinery breakdowns and downtime
Manage and prioritise engineering workloads to support production demands
Plan and oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), including weekend activity
Ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment is maintained safely and efficiently
Drive continuous improvement projects from proposal through to execution
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, backlog, and priorities
Support and develop engineering teams through coaching, training, and performance management
Work closely with Operations and external contractors to minimise downtime
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and site standards
Support the effective use of the site CMMS system
About You
You will be a fully qualified / time-served Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, ideally with experience in a food manufacturing or fast-paced production environment.
We are keen to hear from experienced engineering leaders, as well as Engineering Team Leaders ready to take the next step into a Shift Manager role.
Key Skills / Qualifications
Multi-skilled engineering background (mechanical and electrical)
Industry-recognised engineering qualification
17th or 18th Edition Electrical (desirable)
Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Experience managing and leading engineering teams
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational ability
