Maintenance Engineer - Coventry Salary: £49,000 (including shift allowance) Hours: Panama Shift Pattern Holiday: 31 days We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support our manufacturing site in Coventry. You'll be responsible for keeping production machinery running safely, efficiently, and to the highest possible standard, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of industrial equipment. The Role As part of the engineering team, you'll take ownership of maintaining plant machinery and supporting production in achieving strong performance and uptime. This includes completing PPM schedules, resolving breakdowns, and ensuring all work aligns with safety, quality, and engineering standards. Key Responsibilities Perform reactive repairs on machinery and associated equipment in line with legal and industry guidelines. Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks and document any unusual conditions or issues. Ensure all repairs meet required standards; escalate outstanding work where needed. Feed back equipment issues so PPM routines can be improved and kept relevant. Identify and implement improvements that help reduce downtime and enhance reliability. Adjust machine settings to resolve quality issues, ensuring optimal performance and output. Maintain process integrity by working within defined parameters and production requirements. Update maintenance systems, logs, and handover notes accurately. Provide clear shift handovers to the next engineer or team leader and ensure spare parts usage is recorded. Conduct production handovers after engineering interventions. Keep work areas clean, safe, and free of debris, ensuring all waste is properly disposed of. Work within project and improvement teams to support the introduction and optimisation of new equipment. Follow all health & safety requirements, including machine guarding and control system procedures. Carry out any additional duties that support the engineering function. What We're Looking For Skills & Knowledge Strong background in industrial electrical engineering. Ability to fault-find on relay logic and ideally experience with PLC-controlled systems. Understanding of technical drawings and electrical schematics. Knowledge of compressed air systems, chilled water plant, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Familiarity with heavy industrial rotating machinery such as mills, extruders, or similar equipment Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
