At Finning (UK) Ltd, the world's largest Caterpillar dealership, we have an exciting opportunity for a Rebuild Repair Engineer in our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC). With over 90 years of delivering exceptional service, we cater to a variety of industries including mining, construction, petroleum, and forestry.


What You'll Do:

As a Rebuild Repair Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our engines and powertrains meet the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:

* Conducting detailed inspections of equipment to assess repair and refurbishment needs.
* Performing standard diagnostic tests on components for accurate cost evaluations.
* Creating comprehensive lists of parts and materials for machine preparation.
* Overhauling, repairing, or refurbishing machines according to agreed work plans.
* Testing engines in our state-of-the-art test cell.
* Inspecting and testing completed machines to ensure optimal performance.

Essential Knowledge:

To excel in this role, you should have:

* A deep understanding of service manuals and computerized Service Information Systems (SIS).
* Practical knowledge of tooling and specialized equipment for heavy machinery repairs.
* Experience with diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical fitting.


Education and Experience:

We prefer candidates with:

* A background in plant machinery or similar industries (HGV/agriculture).
* Experience in assembly and disassembly of diesel engines and components.
* A minimum of 5 years in a quality service environment or apprentice training.
* A valid license to drive reach trucks.
* Practical experience in operating construction equipment in confined spaces.
