Finance & Administration Officer (Part-Time) 25–30 hours per week Hybrid Working Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be supporting a local community council in the Cardiff area in the appointment of a Finance & Administration Officer to support the ongoing financial and administrative running of the council. This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit a highly organised individual who enjoys working in a hands-on environment where no two days are the same. While the role has a strong finance focus, it also includes a wide range of administrative and operational responsibilities, supporting councillors and the wider team in delivering services to the local community. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys making a real difference locally and working closely with a small, friendly and collaborative team. The Role You will play a key role in supporting the council’s financial operations and governance, alongside wider administrative responsibilities. Duties will include: Managing day-to-day financial administration including invoicing, payments and debt management Supporting budget monitoring and financial reporting Maintaining financial records using accounting software (training on their accounts package, Scribe will be provided) Supporting the preparation of council agendas and taking minutes at meetings Attending monthly council meetings (Thursday evenings 7–9pm) and ensuring accurate record keeping Handling general correspondence and supporting councillors with administrative tasks Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the council office and community facilities Liaising with stakeholders including councillors, contractors and members of the public About You We are keen to hear from candidates who are: Experienced in finance administration, bookkeeping or accounts Comfortable managing a mix of finance and administrative responsibilities Highly organised with strong attention to detail Confident communicating with a range of stakeholders Self-motivated and able to work independently Flexible and happy to support across a variety of duties Down-to-earth and approachable, with a community-minded attitude Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Sage or similar would be beneficial. Previous local government experience is welcome but not essential.
