Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Controls

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Controls to join its team in Desford. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact manufacturing improvement projects valued between $200K and $2M, utilizing the latest technologies in automation and controls.
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic engineering team responsible for implementing advanced manufacturing solutions and introducing new machinery to support world-class product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and implement automation and robotics solutions.
* Support maintenance teams using Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC/HMI software.
* Upgrade and standardize legacy control systems.
* Lead full-cycle project management for New Product Introduction (NPI) and improvement initiatives.
* Develop manufacturing process solutions using PFMEA, control plans, and process flows.
* Promote lean manufacturing and quality-focused practices.
* Monitor project performance and manage risks to meet key metrics.
* Define equipment specifications and oversee safe installations.
* Collaborate with suppliers and facility teams to ensure timely project execution.
* Mentor team members on standardized workflows and best practices.
* Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies.
* Proven project management skills, including budgeting and resource planning.
* Understanding of manufacturing safety and compliance standards.
* Strategic decision-making and problem resolution.
* Manufacturing problem-solving methodologies.
* Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
* Familiarity with building and construction equipment assembly, testing, or finishing.
* Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter.
* Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and fishbone diagrams.
* Six Sigma project leadership.
* Degree or equivalent experience.

Travel Requirement
