As a Software Test Engineer you will ensure the quality and reliability of key projects, including centralised data initiatives and customer onboarding.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
* Design, develop, and maintain manual and automated test cases and scripts.
* Collaborate with Programme Managers, Business Leads, and Engineering teams to define test strategies and quality standards.
* Analyse test outcomes, identify issues and risks, and report results clearly to stakeholders.
* Drive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and practices.
* Ensure quality goals are embedded and achieved throughout delivery.
* Work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
* This is a Hybrid Role, mainly consisting of home working, however monthly visits to our Head office in Newcastle will be required, along with attendance at quarterly updates.
* 4-5 years' experience in software testing (manual and automated) with strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
* Knowledge of tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium for automated UI and workflow testing are desirable.
* Experience of working closely with BAs and developers on test case design and reviews.
* Proficient in test management tools (e.g. JIRA, Zephyr) and familiar with agile development environments.
* Front-end and back-end testing experience including web-based front-end applications (React/Angular) and RESTful APIs, and database testing and data integrity verification.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a collaborative yet independent working style.
* Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python is an advantage.
