Job Description:
With 24 years of leading industry experience, SMS Environmental, a leading water treatment and air quality management company specialising in Legionella control, ranks within the top 5% of water treatment providers within the UK.
Due to exciting company growth, we are now looking for a Legionella Risk Assessor to join our growing team across Scotland. You will help deliver water system surveys and risk assessments to a variety of community-based customers, working across a wide range of building types including residences, small offices, large schools, commercial premises, care homes, and healthcare facilities. These roles are field-based, and regular travel across the central belt of Scotland will be a core part of the role.
Under supervision until internal and external training are completed and the job holder is signed off as competent:
* Execute on-site work in conjunction with SMS Method Statement.
* Enforce Health & Safety practices on-site.
* Problem solve and diagnose faults within plumbing systems.
* Execute work using IT systems.
* Perform risk assessments of hot and cold water systems within various building types (including spas and cooling towers if competent).
* Carry out risk assessments to UKAS 17020 standards, ACoP L8, BS8580, MS80, and other relevant standards.
* Assist with maintenance work where no conflict of interest arises.
* Coordinate with schematic, formatter, and quality assurance officers to ensure high-quality risk assessments.
Requirements
* Previous experience in the Water Hygiene Industry is essential.
* Experience in conducting Legionella Risk Assessments is beneficial, though training will be provided as per HR57.
* Driving license required.
* Effective communication skills with clients.
* Education: GCSE or equivalent.
* Technical knowledge of the Water Hygiene Industry.
* Health & Safety knowledge.
* Approved Legionella Risk Assessor Qualification as per HR57 or willingness to undertake it.
