As a compensation we offer basic salary of £31,373.79, plus Company Van, 20 holiday days + Banking Holiday, up to 3% annual bonus, Company Pension (3% contributions), company Benefits Catalogue.
What will I be doing?
As the Shift Supervisor at our Altens East MRF you will be required also to cover Transfer Waste Station, when necessary:
* Oversee and manage the daily production plan, ensuring smooth operations and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Supervise a dedicated team of 21 employees, including one Team Leader and Recycling Operatives, focusing on their competency, safety compliance, and productivity.
* Collaborate with management to plan, review, and continuously improve operational processes.
* Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, including the use of RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements).
* Support the efficient collection, recycling, and recovery of waste materials, maintaining high standards of customer service and operational effectiveness.
* Maintain clear communication and coordination across shifts to meet production goals.
Working hours: 40 hours per week, typically 08:00 – 16:30 (flexible start/end times available).

What are the requirements?
Essential:
* Proven supervisory experience in a production or similar operational environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
* Good understanding of health and safety practices, with a willingness to complete IOSH training (provided).
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable:
* Previous experience working in a waste management or recycling facility.
* Familiarity with waste types, disposal methods, and environmental regulations.
* Experience using RAMS or similar HSE systems.
