Role Overview: As a Sports Coach, you will deliver dynamic PE lessons and sports activities that not only develop physical skills but also encourage teamwork, resilience, and self-confidence. Your role will include planning engaging sessions, supporting school teams, and nurturing a positive sporting ethos throughout the school community. You’ll be an integral part of students’ growth, fostering a love for movement and healthy lifestyles. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver varied, high-quality sports and physical education sessions tailored to different abilities and age groups. Inspire and motivate students to participate in a range of activities including team sports, athletics, and general fitness. Promote a culture of fair play, teamwork, and respect among students. Organise and supervise extracurricular clubs, training sessions, and inter-school competitions. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable goals. Support the wider PE department in developing creative approaches to student engagement and skill development. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during sports activities, following safeguarding and health and safety guidelines. Job Requirements: Previous experience working as a Sports Coach in a school or youth setting is highly desirable. Recognised sports coaching qualification (e.g., Level 2 Certificate, PE or Sport Science degree, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of a variety of sports and the ability to teach fundamental skills effectively. Excellent communication and motivational skills to engage students positively. Ability to inspire confidence and encourage participation among reluctant or less confident pupils. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and sessions simultaneously.
