Leads the Logistics Team Leaders in managing, operating and controlling all physical flows to, within and from the site(s). Manages the teams and process effectiveness of receiving operations, transport organising and planning, warehouse operations, management of physical inventory, internal logistics and outbound operations.
Ensures Logistics team execute activities within site, national and international regulations where applicable.
1. Ensures safe working environment.
2. Manages the team based on Employee Involvement principles
3. Manages the workload of the area (receiving, shipping, internal movements, warehouse) and optimise the allocated resources.
4. Defines and set up the physical organisation of warehouses within site(s)
5. Organises and control the internal transportation of material in order to assure the best service level and cost.
6. Is interface between supply chain and production at shop floor level ensuring material movement is in accordance with operational expectations.
7. Develops and optimises all physical and information flows using Lean principles (including company owned external warehouses).
8. Manages and controls the transactional flow for all physical flows.
9. Ensures actual inventory accuracy and reliability (FIFO and Cycle counting etc)
10. Overseas all Logistics processes in adherence within regulatory frameworks especially with regard to International trade and compliance
11. Manages inbound and outbound freight with external providers, suppliers and customers.
