LOCATION: Watford, Hertfordshire
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday with a shift system from 9am to 7pm
Duties
* General Administration: Provide administrative and secretarial support including typing, scanning, filing and managing correspondence
* Data Entry: Accurately input and convert patient information into systems such as Excel and the Laboratory Information Management System
* Digital Slide Scanning: Assist with scanning and uploading pathology slides to ensure image quality and timely processing
* Filing & Packaging: Maintain accurate filing systems and safely package medical materials for return to clients
* Laboratory Support: Assist Biomedical Scientists and Pathologists with non-technical tasks under supervision
* Communication: Liaise professionally with staff and clients by phone, email and in person
* Stock Control: Participate in stock checks and ensure the workspace remains clean, organised and compliant
* Teamwork: Support colleagues and management on ad-hoc projects and operational tasks
Candidate requirements
Essential
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities
* Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Positive, proactive and team-oriented attitude
* Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable
* Knowledge of office procedures and filing systems
* Previous experience in an administrative or data entry role
* Typing and transcription skills
* Understanding of confidentiality in a healthcare or laboratory setting
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
