Motor Vehicle Tutor (SEND)
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
The Role
As a Motor Vehicle Tutor, you will:
* Deliver engaging theory and practical Motor Vehicle sessions to SEND learners.
* Teach across workshop and classroom environments, with two days each week spent in the workshop.
* Deliver one‑hour sessions with appropriate breaks to meet individual learner needs.
* Support learners to develop vocational, personal and employability skills.
* Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet a range of additional learning needs.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Monitor learner progress and provide feedback to support achievement.
* Work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to ensure positive learner outcomes.
* Deliver lessons using existing schemes of work and curriculum plans prepared by the Curriculum Manager.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* A recognised Teaching Qualification.
* A Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle or a related automotive discipline.>
* Experience delivering vocational training or education within Motor Vehicle subjects.
* Strong experience working with SEND learners.
* The ability to manage behaviour positively and build effective learner relationships.
* Experience working within alternative provision, pupil referral units (PRUs), custodial education or similar challenging educational settings would be highly desirable.
* Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
* A genuine commitment to supporting learners with additional needs.
