Job Advert: Senior Manager – Youth Justice Service | Suffolk County Council Location: Hybrid – Offices in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, and Lowestoft Rate: £39–£44 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Contract: 05/05/2025 to 08/08/2025 Suffolk County Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Manager to join their Youth Justice Service (SYJS) on an interim basis. You will help lead a multi-agency service working with young people who are in or on the edge of the criminal justice system. This is a critical leadership role focused on safeguarding, prevention, performance, and partnership. Responsibilities: Deputise for the Head of SYJS Contribute to strategic leadership and direction Lead on service delivery standards, performance, and quality assurance Assist in producing the Youth Justice Plan and developing funding strategies Represent the service at key partnership boards and meetings Requirements: Significant experience managing youth justice or similar services Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and safeguarding practice Proven leadership and partnership working at a strategic level Experience in service improvement, risk management, and budget oversight Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while contributing to the continuous development of youth justice services across Suffolk.
