We have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Homeless Recovery Worker who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. Where: Ealing When: We ar e looking to get the right person into the team ASAP Hours: Max 22.5 per week (3 days a week) About the role: Support the Rough Sleepers DAT team to engage and support individuals who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple needs/substance misuse You will be working alongside the team, responding to referrals, targeting known locations within the community Actively engaging and building a positive relationship with people who are rough sleeping/experiencing problems with substance misuse. Carry necessary supplies such as food, paperwork and other provisions Provide confidential, easily accessible, non-judgmental advice around substance misuse, safer injecting overdose and what to do in an emergency Support rough sleepers/service user by signposting and advocating for them to access support, being a central person between them and other services About you: Ability to work with professional boundaries A non-judgmental attitude Good verbal communication skills Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality Willingness to work some unsociable hours Polish and Punjabi speakers are encouraged to apply What we will give to you: Access to our Employee assistance programme(EAP) Free eye tests when you start using display screen equipment for your volunteering role Our wellbeing hour, which entitles all our colleagues to one hour each week to do something that makes them feel good.
