The Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) is one of the most significant legal and operational changes the retail industry will face in the coming years. With an implementation deadline of 1st October 2027 and an estimated cost of around £60m, it’s critical we get it right and we’re looking for a Services Manager to help lead this work at Morrisons.

As Services Manager for the Deposit Return Scheme, you’ll manage category development and supplier partnerships that ensure Morrisons meets all legal requirements while delivering a seamless, customer-focused service. You’ll combine procurement expertise with strong project management skills to build strategies that balance compliance, cost efficiency, and great customer experience.

What you’ll be doing:

* Leading supplier engagement and contract management for all DRS-related services.

* Developing and delivering category strategies that align with both regulatory requirements and Morrisons’ business objectives.

* Using best practice procurement and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to ensure value for money and competitive advantage.

* Partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver successful end-to-end project implementation.

* Providing legal and commercial insight to shape procurement strategy and mitigate risks.


About you

You’ll be a confident, commercially minded procurement professional with the ability to influence, negotiate, and deliver in a highly regulated environment. You’ll also bring:

* Strong knowledge of procurement, category management, and SRM.

* Experience creating and driving strategies in a complex business setting.

* Project management and planning expertise, ideally in large-scale change.

* A track record of building strong relationships at all levels to drive commercial benefit.

* Awareness of legal, compliance, and sustainability considerations in procurement.
