Job: Assistant Company Secretary, West Midlands Reporting into the General Counsel and Company Secretary, you will play a key role in enhancing the company secretarial function and providing high quality board support. The Opportunity You will shape the company secretarial function with a focus on introducing best practice and you will work collaboratively to provide governance advice and strategic direction to the leadership team. Key Responsibilities You will be a key contact for all governance and company secretarial matters and will take ownership and responsibility for all statutory compliance, managing subsidiaries including international entities, drafting and implementing policies and procedures, managing meeting cycles for board and committees including preparing agendas and maintaining records, manage board effectiveness reviews, support with annual reports as well horizon scanning and providing advice on changes in legislations. About You You will ideally be CGI qualified and you must hold relevant experience from working in a similar assistant company secretary position. You will have strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge where necessary. You must be able to confidently work independently as well as part of a team and will be passionate about good governance.
