Are you a hands-on problem-solver with a knack for keeping things running smoothly? Nira Caledonia is looking for a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our friendly team and become the guardian of our historic property.
As our Maintenance Technician, you will be the go-to person for all things related to the hotel's upkeep. Your work will be crucial in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and flawless experience for our guests. This is a vital role for someone who takes great pride in their work and has a keen eye for detail.
What you'll be doing:
* Performing routine checks and preventative maintenance on hotel equipment, rooms, and public areas.
* Carrying out a wide range of repairs, including basic plumbing (e.g., fixing leaks, unblocking drains), electrical tasks (e.g., changing bulbs and fittings), and general carpentry.
* Responding promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from both guests and staff.
* Painting, decorating, and carrying out other fabric maintenance to keep our hotel looking its best.
* Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations.
* Liaising with and supervising external contractors when specialised work is required.
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
* A good all-round skill set, with practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
* A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
* A friendly and professional manner when interacting with guests and colleagues.
* Flexibility to work varied hours as required.
