Commercial Vehicle Service Advisor Location: Reading Job Type: Full-time Salary: up to £32,000 per annum up to £4,000 bonus overtime Are you an experienced Service Advisor looking to join a fast-paced commercial vehicle environment? We're supporting a well-established dealership in Reading that requires a confident, organised, and customer-focused Service Advisor to strengthen their aftersales team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy setting, enjoys problem-solving, and has a passion for delivering outstanding service to both trade and fleet customers. The Role Working as a key link between customers and the workshop, your role will involve managing the full service process from initial booking through to vehicle handover. You will: Act as the main customer contact, providing clear, timely updates throughout the service journey Book in commercial vehicles for maintenance, repairs, and MOT appointments Support the workshop by preparing jobs accurately and ensuring all relevant information is captured Clarify repair authorisation (Retail / Fleet / Warranty) and obtain order numbers Communicate recall campaigns and arrange required work Make daily progress calls, manage "No Show" bookings, and maintain strong Work in Progress (WIP) control Update Vehicle Off Road (VOR) statuses using manufacturer platforms Prepare estimates, gain approval, and invoice completed work Maintain accurate service histories, documentation, and filing Handle walk‑in enquiries and provide professional face‑to‑face and telephone support Monitor workshop capacity and load the diary effectively Promote additional services and repairs where appropriate Ensure customer areas are kept tidy and welcoming Organise subcontracted work and track progress Comply with all health & safety and operational procedures This is a varied and fast-moving role that requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a high-demand environment.
