Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Breast Consultant in Imaging. The postholder will deliver high-quality, patient‑centred care and support the Trust's ambition to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Consultant Breast Radiologist to join our supportive and forward‑looking Imaging Department. This is a full‑time, substantive replacement post (10 PAs) supporting the diagnostic breast imaging service, working closely with our team of consultant breast radiologists and specialist mammography practitioners.

You will join a supportive, forward‑looking Imaging department, with major service developments underway including a new Scanning Centre and delivery of the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) programme.

The breast imaging service is well‑established, with a strong multidisciplinary ethos and close collaboration with four consultant breast surgeons, oncology, and pathology colleagues.

The service detected 395 cancers in 2025.

The breast unit is fully digital, including digital breast tomosynthesis, with Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM) planned for implementation. We welcome applicants who have broad radiology experience consistent with a fully trained Consultant Radiologist, together with specialist expertise in breast imaging and experience of the National Breast Screening Programme.

Main duties of the job

This post will encompass all areas of imaging allied to the screening and symptomatic breast services, including specialist breast ultrasound, image guided intervention utilising the modalities of ultrasound, stereotactic guidance and digital breast tomography with special reference to stereotactic guided and ultrasound guided vacuum biopsy, the reporting of breast MRI, CT and plain radiography.

This post encompasses the full range of imaging associated with both the screening and symptomatic breast services.

We welcome applications from individuals who:

* Are fully trained Consultant Radiologists
* Have broad general radiology experience
* Possess specialist expertise in breast imaging
* Have experience within the National Breast Screening Programme
* Value collaborative working and high‑quality patient care

There will be opportunities to pursue and develop areas of special interest in line with departmental priorities and the Trust's strategic direction. We welcome applicants who bring initiative, innovation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The main base for this post will be Milton Keynes University Hospital but there may be a requirement to work at any other location where the Trust provides services such as community diagnostic centres.
