Whatyou'lldo:
1. ‘Eyes on glass’ monitoring of network monitoring tools
2. Receive inbound calls to the NOC (FE, 3rd parties, suppliers, partners)
3. Manage inbound / outbound access requests
4. Triage network faults and alerts raised through Comarch / Sev-One / Spark auto-ticketing
5. Raise Spark tickets and assign / calloutappropriate supportteams across Group Networks
6. Triagefixednetwork faults
7. Execute network repair actionsin accordance withestablished playbooks (especiallynode / card faults)
8. Monitor change activity and support implementation teams with pre-check / post check activities asrequired
9. Support escalations to Network Reliability Engineering team for non-BAUIP networkfaults
10. 24/7 operational contact point for network issues and incident co-ordination
11. BAU change management co-ordination
Whatyou'llbring:
The ideal candidate willbe a network engineerpossessingexcellent problem-solving skills anddemonstratea proactive approach to issue resolution.They will be equally comfortable monitoring the network, supporting BAU change and directly resolving incidents using a combination of CLI and network management tools. Effective communication and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.A willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and processes within a fast-paced environment is highly valued.
12. Technicalunderstanding of telecoms networks across IP core,access, transmission,cloudand ISP services
13. Understanding of the functions and architecture of other network domains (including voice, mobile and CDN)
14. Abilitytounderstandthe information providedbynetwork monitoring systems andundertakeappropriateactionto resolveincidents.
15. Network Engineering operationalexpertisein service provider network technologies like Access, MPLS, IP routing, switching, network security (firewalls), and load balancing.
16. Technical knowledge and skills up to the equivalent ofprofessional-level( CCNP, NSE) with competence in at least one major vendor with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and familiarity with automation/monitoring tools.
17. Experience of telecoms change and incident management processes.
18. Strong teamethic workingin an unpredictable operational environment.
Team overview: Service Reliability
The Service Reliability teamis responsible forthe 24/7 running of Sky’s telecoms network. It provides the primary 24/7 service desk for Group Networks routing incident tickets both within the department and to other on-call support teams within Group Networks. The department isdirectly responsibleforexecuting playbooks forproblem resolution within the Access and IP network domains.
