Job Description:
We are seeking 2 Youth Justice Officers to join MCC in Manchester, starting ASAP. The role offers up to £30 per hour depending on experience and is a long-term temporary position.
Candidates must be qualified or have recent experience as a Youth Justice case officer, with qualifications such as:
* DipSW
* Degree in Social Work
* Qualified Probation Officer PCEP
* NVQ Level 4 in Community Justice
* YJEPC (Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate)
The Youth Justice Service aims to deliver high-quality interventions to ensure positive outcomes for young people in Manchester. The role involves working closely with courts, young people, and families to improve public protection, safeguard young people's needs, and reduce youth offending within a desistance framework.
Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, delivering face-to-face interventions, supervising cases, making referrals, managing risks, and developing supervision plans based on assessments. The role requires good communication skills, motivation, and the ability to work flexibly, including working at different offices and one late night per week on a rota.
Experience or understanding of the Criminal Justice system is essential.
