Overview
As a certified nurse or paramedic, you can pursue a career within the criminal justice system, aiding some of society's most vulnerable individuals. In collaboration with the Police, you'll serve in custody suites, delivering healthcare to detainees. The role requires flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area. No previous forensic experience required as full training will be given.
Responsibilities
* Deliver healthcare in custody suites in collaboration with the Police, ensuring detainee safety and wellbeing.
* Provide round-the-clock coverage in custody suites as scheduled with the client.
* Be flexible to work across a base Custody suite and other sites within an assigned region.
* Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance clinical, forensic, and broader skills.
Requirements
* RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration): 2 years post-qualification – Band 5 minimum
* Paramedic: 2 years post-qualification
* Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within relevant fields (e.g., General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk-in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Service)
* Driving Licence (required)
* Right to work in the UK (British Passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months)
* All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting
Benefits and Schedule
* Salary £41,000 per year
* £500.00 bonus after completing 12 months of service
* Full-time, fixed shift pattern in a team rota: 4 shifts on, 4 days off; 06:45–19:00 for 2-day shifts, followed by 2 night shifts 18:45–07:00; rolling rota available 2 years in advance
* Average overtime around £3,500 per annum
* NMC/HCPC Registration paid
