We are continuing to grow and are now seeking an experienced Income & Credit Control Specialist to strengthen our head office finance team. This is a key role with responsibility for managing income flows, resolving complex credit control matters and ensuring effective cash collection across a large portfolio of care services. The Role As Income & Credit Control Specialist, you will take ownership of the full credit control cycle and be the first point of escalation for resolving complex and high-value accounts. You will work closely with health and social care trusts, service users, families, and internal colleagues to ensure prompt payment and professional resolution of any disputes. About The Role Duties and Responsibilities Leading the end-to-end credit control process, including direct debit preparation, cash allocation and ledger maintenance. Managing overdue and disputed accounts, negotiating repayment arrangements and ensuring sustainable solutions. Liaising directly with health & social care trusts and other key stakeholders to resolve invoicing or funding queries. Building strong relationships with site-based managers and operational teams to ensure accurate, timely billing. Preparing and maintaining detailed schedules for accrued income, reconciliations and debtor analysis. Producing regular reports on debt status, aged debtor analysis and collection performance for senior management. Supporting continuous improvement of systems and processes within the income function. About You We are looking for a proactive professional with the confidence and expertise to handle complex credit situations. You will be skilled at negotiating, building rapport and resolving disputes while maintaining positive relationships. Essential requirements: Minimum 2 years experience in credit control or sales ledger management within a large organisation. Proven track record of resolving complex or high-value accounts and reducing aged debt. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders. Highly organised with excellent problem-solving, analytical and numeracy skills. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to adapt quickly to new finance systems. Ability to prioritise, manage competing deadlines and work independently. Desirable: Experience working within healthcare, local government or the third sector.
