Job Description:
The Learning Disability Psychology Team (LDPT) in NHS Forth Valley is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist who is passionate about evidence based, person centred and collaborative practice. We would also welcome applications from candidates nearing qualification.
The LDPT supports adults (over 18 years old) with a learning disability and their carers/families by offering a range of highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions, including multi-agency and systemic work. The post holder will work across the LDPT which affords excellent opportunities for service development work and clinical leadership. There are also opportunities to work within area wide specialist LD teams, including the forensic, ASD or dementia team.
In addition to psychological provision for patients and their carers, the post holder will also offer consultancy, supervision and training to multidisciplinary colleagues. We offer multiple therapeutic modalities and have multidisciplinary modality pathways for psychological assessment and intervention in relation to CBT, BFT, PBS and Trauma.
The LD psychology team is part of the wider department of Psychological Services. As such, there are ample opportunities for networking with psychology colleagues from other specialities, and to become involved in service wide professional project work. We also have a varied in-house programme of CPD (including reflective practice groups and all department CPD events) and there is support to advance skills and knowledge relevant to the area of speciality.
Candidates must have a Post Graduate Doctoral level (or equivalent) degree in Clinical/Counselling Psychology, be registered with the HCPC and have experience of working with adults with a learning disability. Experience or training in relation to neuropsychology, dementia, neurodevelopmental disorders or forensic issues would also be an advantage.
