Lewisham Council is seeking two experienced Review Officers to join the Revenues & Benefits team within Resident and Business Services. This temporary assignment will support the service during a peak in workload.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and assess claims relating to Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, and other welfare support.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Investigate discrepancies and liaise with residents, businesses, and external agencies to resolve queries.
* Provide clear written and verbal communication to customers, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to performance targets within the service.
Requirements
* Previous experience in Revenues & Benefits or a similar local government environment.
* Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction regulations.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
* Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
* Commitment to accuracy, compliance, and fair decision-making.
