Job Overview
We are looking for a Clinical Lead Nurse to join our team at The New Lodge Nursing Home in Mickleover, Derby. The successful applicant will need to be a Registered Nurse and preferably have experience of working in a nursing home environment. Applicants should have knowledge of MCA & DOLS legislation, Care Planning and Assessing, Development of Person Centred Care Plans and be confident in leading and supporting the team.
The Clinical Lead Nurse will oversee clinical operations, support patient care initiatives, and ensure compliance with health regulations. They will manage a team of 5 RGN's. Working with the Home Manager the Clinical Lead will be responsible for ensuring effective and safe clinical practice, monitoring standards via audits and observations. reviewing policies and procedures relating to clinical care.
The Role
* Assisting the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets all regulatory requirements striving to gain an "Outstanding rating for the service.
* Maintaining positive working relationships and communication with other healthcare professionals, CQC, social services departments and other regulatory bodies.
* Maintaining open, transparent and effective communication with colleagues, service users, relatives and visitors.
* Keeping up to date with developments of clinical practice, education and training to enable continuous improvement in the service.
* Support care staff with daily allocation ensuring an even skill mix across all areas and to oversee daily handovers.
* Completing regular checks on the care floor to ensure standards are being met and maintained.
* Work with service users, families and the team to update care plans to reflect a person-centred approach and delivery of positive outcomes.
* Ensuring all documentation is kept up to date and of a high standard.
* Providing leadership and support for clinical and care staff.
* Providing feedback to the homes manager on any areas of staff improvement.
* Supporting the homes manager with clinically related aspects of the home including assessments of potential residents, liaising with commissioners and stakeholders.
* Managing a clinical team of five RGN's and providing clinical leadership.
Requirements
* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin and demonstrable post registration experience and;
* Experience of leading a clinical team and holding responsibility for all aspects of the clinical needs of the home.
* Managing or mentoring experience
* Previous experience working as a Senior Nurse in a nursing home environment.
* People management experience
* Possess a committed and organised approach
* A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
