Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer ready to take on complex design challenges in the world of bespoke capital equipment?
This Blackburn-based engineering company is expanding its design capability and is looking for a driven professional to help shape the next generation of industrial machinery.
About the Role
As part of a highly skilled design team, you\'ll play a key role in delivering tailored machinery solutions for a wide range of industrial clients. Your work will span the full project lifecycle from initial concepts through to final manufacturing documentation. You\'ll be involved in:
* Producing accurate 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks users keen to transition are welcome).
* Creating manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications to support smooth production.
* Collaborating closely with production, electrical, and controls teams to ensure fully integrated machine designs.
* Applying sound engineering principles - including calculations, material selection, and design optimisation to improve performance and reliability.
* Contributing ideas that enhance machine efficiency, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Supporting client discussions to ensure designs meet their specific operational requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Strong background in mechanical design engineering, ideally within capital equipment or machinery.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred, but SolidWorks or similar considered).
* Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
