Learning Support Worker – Ellesmere Port | Supporting SEND Pupils Across Local Schools
Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs succeed in education? TalentBoard is recruiting Learning Support Workers to support pupils across a range of Ellesmere Port mainstream schools and specialist SEND settings.
This is a fulfilling role where you’ll make a genuine difference to children with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges—helping them feel safe, included and ready to learn every day.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Worker, you’ll play a vital part in creating positive learning experiences for pupils who need additional help. Your responsibilities may include:
* Providing one-to-one support and small-group interventions
* Helping pupils work towards IEP/EHCP targets and personalised learning goals
* Creating a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
* Promoting confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing
* Following safeguarding procedures and prioritising pupil safety
All applicants must hold (or be prepared to apply for) an Enhanced DBS Check.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome people from a variety of backgrounds, including:
* Education, tutoring, youth work or behaviour support
* Care, support work, residential care or social care
* Mental health, nursing, counselling or wellbeing support
* Coaching, mentoring or voluntary roles with vulnerable groups
If you are patient, supportive, adaptable and passionate about inclusive education, this could be the perfect role. Qualifications in education, childcare or psychology are helpful but not essential.
