Join to apply for the Neurodevelopmental Practitioner role at NHS Scotland. This permanent opportunity focuses on supporting neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention and working across the ND pathway.
Responsibilities
* Work as a core part of the city ND team to contribute to the multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions and impact.
* Support neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention and work across the ND pathway on a permanent basis.
* Contribute to neurodevelopmental assessment, post diagnostic intervention and providing support and consultancy across the wider children’s services as well as delivering and demonstrating uni-professional added value.
* Link with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Specialist Community Paediatrics Teams and Education; be HCPC/NMC registered (or relevant professional body) with relevant experience in neurodevelopment assessment, diagnosis and support strategies.
* Demonstrate the uni-professional value add for these young people and their families; evidence transferable skills to CYP with neurodevelopmental impact; be organised, motivated and part of a developing service.
* Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills when working with children, young people and their families; demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills; participate in training and supervision for professional development and evidence-based practice (uni-professional and multi-disciplinary).
* Secondment will be considered if your current manager is able to support this.
Qualifications and experience
* HCPC/NMC registration (or relevant professional body).
* Relevant experience in neurodevelopment assessment, diagnosis and support strategies.
* It is suitable for an Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist or Nurse.
* Ability to link with CAMHS, Specialist Community Paediatrics Teams and Education and work across the wider children’s services.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with children, young people and their families; and excellent teamwork.
* Organised, motivated and committed to being part of a developing service; willingness to engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development.
* Experience of assessment and intervention for children and young people with neurodevelopmental differences is an advantage.
