Proposed salary range: Up to £33,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are looking for a talented producer to help us tell memorable stories from people across Lancashire. You should be a self‑starter who knows how to find the best content and guests, be able to create audio that gets people talking, and consider how stories and ideas can travel to other platforms. Knowledge of Lancashire is an advantage, but the key requirement is great ideas and experience with creative audio production.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* You will be a content producer working on different programmes on BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Sounds.
* You will pitch ideas, stories and guests and help plan audio content.
* You will coordinate with production teams to bring creative ideas to life.
* You will work on a shift basis, including early, late and weekend shifts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
* On‑air and set‑up production of BBC Radio Lancashire programmes.
* Exercise editorial judgement in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism.
* Use a range of video, audio and digital equipment and information technology to research, write, assemble, edit and deliver outputs in the appropriate medium, to the highest professional standards.
* Prioritise and plan activities taking into account deadlines, staffing and available resources.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Recent audio production experience – demonstrating a good knowledge of creative production techniques.
* Ability to develop new, creative and diverse ideas.
* Effective planning and organisational skills – delivering consistently to deadlines.
* Sound editorial judgement – demonstrating a clear understanding of the BBC’s values.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
* Understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusivity within the output you create.
