Learning & Development Administrator
Location: NIFRS Learning & Development Centre, Cookstown
Pay Rate: £16.68 per hour
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
Contract: Temporary – up to 6 months (with possible extension)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting, on behalf of the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS), for a Learning & Development Administrator to be based at the Learning & Development Centre in Cookstown.

This is a key administrative role within the Learning & Development function, providing high-quality, customer-focused support to ensure the effective delivery of operational and corporate training across NIFRS.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide professional administrative and front-of-house support to the Learning & Development Centre
2. Act as a first point of contact for Learning & Development enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
3. Support the coordination, administration, and delivery of training courses and events
4. Provide Helpdesk support for users of the Learning Management System (LMS), including system maintenance, access, and troubleshooting
5. Maintain accurate training records in line with GDPR requirements
6. Assist with the design, production, and updating of learning materials and documentation
7. Liaise with contract training providers, monitor expenditure, and support finance and budget management
8. Produce management information, reports, and training data as required
9. Support meetings, events, and training delivery, including the organisation of IT and AV equipment
10. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, learning standards, and legislative requirements

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

11. HNC level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Business Administration, IT, Multimedia) and at least 2 years’ experience in a Learning & Development or administrative role
OR
12. 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English and Maths, and at least 5 years’ experience in a Learning & Development or administrative role

Applicants must also be able to demonstrate:

13. Excellent planning and organisational skills
14. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
16. A strong customer-service focus
17. Experience interpreting data and producing reports related to learning or training activity

Additional Requirements

18. Full, valid UK driving licence (Category B)
19. Confidence using ICT systems and digital learning platforms
20. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
