To support our continued growth, Willmott Dixon is currently looking to recruit a Planner for our London & East construction business. We deliver projects across multiple sectors within north London, the northern home counties, and East Anglia. This will be a hybrid role requiring presence in our Hitchin office 3 days per week.
The Planner will collaborate with preconstruction and site teams to produce realistic, de-risked programmes, on time and to high standards. The role involves working with the wider preconstruction team and supply chain partners to ensure accurate programmes aligned with customer requirements, project scope, and legislation. The Planner will focus on delivering high-quality service and standards that prioritize customer value.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Completing the planning process with commercial acumen.
2. Preparing planning reports highlighting key project dates.
3. Creating planning commentaries and method statements to articulate project approach.
4. Monitoring programmes regularly and advising the bid team on progress.
5. Providing logistical and programme advice related to design changes.
6. Preparing auditable preconstruction and construction programmes based on known outputs and supply chain input.
7. Producing clear site logistics plans demonstrating a robust planning approach.
8. Seeking opportunities for innovative construction methods, including MMC and value engineering.
9. Ensuring work aligns with the company's sustainability objectives.
Essential and desirable criteria:
* Proficiency in written and spoken English.
* Good mathematical ability.
* Appropriate CSCS card.
* Working towards MCIOB qualification.
Personal qualities:
* Strong analytical skills to break down large projects.
* Excellent mathematical skills for complex calculations.
* Effective communication skills to explain ideas clearly and contribute to meetings.
