Health Care Assistant - Emergency Assessment Unit

The post holder will work collaboratively with key health care providers and be under the direction of qualified Nursing Staff to enhance the patient flow throughout the acute Hospital. As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will ensure a timely flow of patients thus contributing towards effective and efficient running of the Emergency Care Patient Pathways. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, and safety within the ward/department environment. Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

What we’ll need you to bring

* SVQ III in healthcare or working towards, or equivalent experience in a caring environment/role.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised.

29 hours
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Emergency Assessment Unit within University Hospital Hairmyres. Shortlisted applicants may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
