Unqualified Teacher – Salisbury
Prospero Teaching is looking for confident, proactive Unqualified Teachers to support secondary schools across Salisbury. This role is perfect for individuals who feel comfortable leading a classroom, engaging students, and delivering pre‑prepared lesson content when the class teacher is unavailable.
You will take charge of a class, ensure pupils stay focused on their work, maintain behaviour expectations, and keep lessons running smoothly. It’s an ideal opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth‑work professionals, tutors, sports coaches, or anyone who enjoys guiding young people.
You can work full‑time, part‑time, or flexibly day‑to‑day depending on your availability.
The Role:
1. Lead lessons using work set by the absent teacher
2. Supervise classes across a range of subjects
3. Keep pupils on task and maintain behaviour expectations
4. Support students with questions and general classroom tasks
5. Work across KS3 & KS4 depending on daily needs
6. Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
7. Provide reliable cover both in advance and at short notice
Ideal Candidate:
8. Experience with young people (coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, classroom support, etc.)
9. Confident managing groups and directing learning
10. Excellent communication and organisational skills
11. Calm, adaptable, and able to think on your feet
12. Positive role model with a proactive approach
13. Graduates or aspiring teachers strongly encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
14. Position: Unqualified Teacher
15. Location: Salisbury
16. Start Date: ASAP
17. Working Pattern: Full‑time, part‑time, or day‑to‑day
18. Pay Rate: Up to £130 per day
19. Year Groups: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
20. Experience with young people essential
21. Classroom or behaviour‑management experience helpful
22. Safeguarding training can be provided
Eligibility:
23. Right to work in the UK
24. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
25. Two suitable references
