We have an exciting opportunity for a Reception administrator with GP admin/GP reception experience to joinour friendly Practice team in Romford/Chadwell Heath. Please only apply if you have a minimum of one year NHS General Practice administration/ reception experience.
North Street Medical Care is a high achieving surgery with over 21,500 patients over two sites; North Street Practice and at the Chadwell HeathHealth Centre in Ashton Gardens. The candidate may be required to work at bothsites as requested, or any other site that NSMC will be running.
The Administrator we are looking for must have GP surgery administration / GP reception experience, goodcommunication skills, attention to detail, a 'can-do' attitude and is able to deal with bothpatients and surgery staff face to face and over the telephone in aprofessional manner.The role is for 25 / 30 hours per week Monday to Friday from 8 am till 1 pm / 2 pm.
The candidate will undertake a wide range of duties & the provision of general support to the team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information & assisting patients as required. A central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main duties of the job
A good working experience with EMIS web is desirable.
Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointment system.
ManageMinor Surgery appointments and waiting lists, re-book patients if a clinicianis on sick leave.
Registeringpatients for proxy access
Warningmessages to patients who DNA appointments
Assistwith recalling patients for health checks
Supportthe Reception Manager with general administrative tasks as required
Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
Signpostpatients to the correct service
Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
Photocopydocumentation as required
Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired
Inputdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Directrequests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLAforms to the administrative team
Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner
Carryout system searches as requested
Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Monitorand maintain the reception area and notice boards
Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Booktransport and interpreter
Takingpayment from patients using Sumup payment card reader and petty cash
About us
Our clinical team includes, GPs, Nurse practitioner, Nurses, HCAs, PA, Pharmacists and Paramedics. We are a training practice. We operate over two sites, which is at North Street, Ashton Gardens and Raphaels House.
