JOB DETAILS JOB BAND: F

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time Perm

DEPARTMENT: BBC Studios

LOCATION: London

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £140,000-£155,000 + London Weighting (£5,441) + 25% Bonus, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

BBC Studios Digital don't just reach audiences - we move them. As an award-winning department, we cultivate and amplify fandoms behind some of the world's most iconic franchises, including Bluey, BBC Earth, Doctor Who, and Gen-Z comedy channel Funny Parts. We run over 90 channels generating 15 billion views each year, encouraging audiences to watch wherever and whenever they choose.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role isn't just about revenue, it's about shaping culture. By putting fandom first and forging partnerships with creators and studios, you'll help BBC Studios tap into new communities, amplify voices, and deliver content that resonates globally. You'll also drive cross-divisional collaboration, ensuring an integrated approach to commercialising content across every window.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
Champion fandom-first strategy: Put audiences at the heart of every decision, building experiences that spark passion and loyalty

Define and deliver commercial strategy across social and digital platforms, unlocking new opportunities and maximising profitability

Build out our stable of partnerships: Collaborate with creators, studios, and digital platforms to expand reach, drive innovation, and cement BBC Studios as a leader in the creator economy

Lead the charge on commercialisation: Set the vision, drive execution, and measure impact across the busines

Elevate global relationships with social and digital partners, ensuring BBC Studios is front and centre in the digital landscape
YOUR KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL CRITERIA :
Demonstrable experience of having successfully led, motivated and developed a team of digital focussed commercial and marketing professionals

Possesses a strong understanding of the Social and Digital publishing sector and BBC competitors, and the relevant in-depth knowledge of current global industry trends and issues relating to their functional area.

A collaborative style and someone who is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working in a matrixed organisation with a significant amount of stakeholder management, and who can work well under pressure

Able to collaborate across organisational boundaries, embrace change, and make improvements to working practices.

A mix of strong commercial skills, and creative instinct who can represent the world leading IP and storytelling capability BBC
DESIRED NOT REQUIRED

A senior leader - good at talent attraction, development, culture, empowerment, motivation and being clear, fair and inclusive; bringing multiple disciplines together in ways which achieve outstanding results.

A deep functional/technical expert with broad and comprehensive understanding of theories, systems and practices.

Demonstrable experience of using data from multiple platforms to drive decision making and efficiency.

Excellent senior stakeholder management skills, able to build rapport and credible, trusted and strong working relationships. xsngvjr

Proven ability to turn strategy into action and lead a team to operationally deliver against stretching targets and priorities
