AECOM is recruiting a Structural Engineer to join our established building engineering team in the London and Southeast region. The role can be based in London or St Albans. You will work on new build and refurbishment projects ranging from £500k to £50m+ across sectors including education, health, defence and commercial, and support clients in meeting carbon reduction targets as part of the national Net Zero drive.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the structural engineering design of complex engineering projects
* Perform work to an agreed budget and schedule with moderate supervision
* Take responsibility for and manage smaller projects
* Provide guidance to graduate engineers
* Produce structural designs, calculations, and analysis models
* Manage and coordinate design input and output
* Work with BIM technicians
* Engage in the internal design review process with our lead verifiers
* Attend design workshops with other members of the design team
* Maintain outstanding technical quality
* Deliver design solutions, calculations, and work as part of an effective team
* Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in English
* Interact with clients in a professional manner
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
* Work well under pressure and prioritize workloads with attention to detail
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
* Graduate membership with the IStructE or ICE
* Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
* A solid track record of working on a variety of structural projects, including steel and concrete frames, with experience dealing directly with external design team members and contractors
* Proficient user of building engineering software packages such as Tekla, SCIA, TEDDS, etc.
