We’re looking for a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join us.

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our long-term financial sustainability. You’ll lead the development of robust, forward‑looking financial models and scenario analysis that inform strategic decision‑making at Executive and Board level.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Strategy and Operations, you’ll translate complex financial and non financial data into clear, actionable insight. Your work will help us understand future risks, opportunities and trade‑offs, enabling confident, evidence‑led decisions that protect places and nature for the long term.

You’ll bring strong technical modelling capability, sound professional judgement, and the confidence to challenge assumptions while collaborating constructively across an organisation.

Salary: £44,499 - £49,452

What it's like to work here

Reporting into the Head of Financial Planning, you’ll join the Financial Planning & Insight function, a central team responsible for providing forward‑looking financial insight, long-range planning, and decision support across our organisation.

You’ll also work closely with the Financial Planning Lead and FP&I Director and partner extensively with Finance Business Partners, strategy colleagues, operational finance teams, data analysts, and senior leaders organisation wide.

Your contractual location will be either our head office in Swindon or our Financial Service Centre in Trowbridge and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a the office for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead the delivery of high-quality, forward-looking financial planning and strategic insight that enables us to make informed, strategic decisions delivering long-term financial sustainability.

This role is pivotal in shaping our financial future through long range financial forecasting, robust scenario modelling, strategic financial analysis and budgeting. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure financial plans are aligned with organisational priorities and resilient to change. The ability to understand current economic and operational context is key in enabling you to focus insight and outputs on areas that are critical to future success.

Who we're looking for

You'll bring;

* Strong understanding and experience in complex financial modelling and how it drives good decision making.
* Advanced Excel skills, including dynamic formulas, scenario tools, and model structuring.
* Experience supporting long-term financial planning or scenario modelling in a large organisation.
* Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively including the ability to create quality input to Executive level presentations
* Experience presenting modelling outputs to senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic decision making
* Proficiency with modelling platforms (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Collaborative Planning or custom-built models).
* AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
