Organisation IRFU Ulster Branch Salary In the region of £28,500 gross per annum Location Affidea Stadium Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 16 February 2026 Job Description Ulster Rugby are currently inviting applications for the post of Communications Executive. Passion for domestic rugby in Ulster sits at the heart of this role. As Communications Executive, you will play a key part in telling the stories of the game across the province; from clubs, schools and age-grade teams to the domestic matchday environment. Combining creativity with strong media instincts, you’ll produce engaging written, video and audio content, act as a central media contact, and help grow and connect Ulster Rugby’s audience through compelling digital communications. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for an enthusiastic communicator who thrives on deadlines, collaboration and bringing rugby in Ulster to life on and off the pitch.

The successful candidate will have a 3rd level qualification relevant to the key responsibilities of the role. In addition, they will have a minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in a communications or media role, experience in producing content for a wide range of social media channels, including emerging trends and experience with social media management on a variety of platforms.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the sport of rugby union and a solid understanding of the local media landscape. It is essential that they have access to a form of transport that enables the postholder to meet the demands of the role in full and have the ability to be flexible with working hours as this position will involve travelling across the province, which will include regular evening/weekend work in updating the website and social media channels.

The post is being offered on a full-time permanent contract, successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
