The Opportunity
We’re seeking a high-performing Manager to join our Employment Tax team within UK&I, where you’ll help drive the growth of our practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of client engagements that go beyond tax compliance - from complex advisory work to broader people-related strategies. As a Manager, you’ll be a key point of contact for clients, build long-lasting relationships, and lead the delivery of high-impact employment tax solutions across a range of sectors. You’ll also play a pivotal role in developing junior talent and supporting strategic business development initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for a collaborative and driven professional with strong technical employment tax knowledge and experience. You’ll have a client-centric mindset, the ability to navigate complex challenges, and a passion for mentoring others.
Key Skills And Experience
* Proven experience in employment tax, gained in consultancy, legal practice, or a large global corporate.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence at all levels.
* Technical expertise in core employment tax areas, including:
o Expenses & Benefits (e.g. PSAs, P11Ds)
o Employment Status (e.g. IR35, self-employed)
o Payroll (PAYE, RTI, apprenticeship levy, audits)
o Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
o Termination Payments
o Pensions
o National Minimum Wage (NMW)
o HMRC audits, disclosures, and interactions
o Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) and Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO) compliance
* A basic understanding of equity-based reward plans.
* Proven ability to identify business development opportunities and convert them into engagements.
* Strong project management skills with a practical, hands-on approach to delivery.
* Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal.
* Adaptable, solution-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
* Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing junior team members.
* Team player who fosters collaboration, provides constructive feedback, and contributes to a positive team culture.
Qualifications
* ATT or CTA (or equivalent) preferred.
