A large UK legal firm offers hybrid working to a Risk andpliance Specialist whoes from a Legal firm background. Initially, 3 days a week in the office and 2 working from home – reducing to 2 days in the office and 3 from home after 4 months.
This is a broad-basedpliance role across all areas of a Legal firm's Risk andpliance remit.
Your new role
As a Risk andpliance Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing expert advice onplex risk andpliance matters, including those relating to professional standards, ethics, regulatorypliance, data protection and conflict of interest.
2. Assisting in promoting and embedding a positive culture ofpliance within the firm; being an ambassador for the Risk Team
3. Owning and managing risk andpliance-related projects
4. Working in partnership with divisional leads and business leads to advise on the risk andpliance aspects of new business initiatives
5. Producing and monitoring risk andpliance data to identify strengths and weaknesses in risk andpliance processes
6. Assisting with updating the firm’s precedent documents such as terms of business, engagement letters and supporting documentation
7. Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies in risk andpliance processes
8. Producing and updating concise and professional policies, bulletins,munications and training materials to improve risk andpliance knowledge across the firm
9. Creating and delivering bespoke training programmes for each division mercial; Private Client; Injury) on risk andpliance matters
10. Monitoring and interpreting changes in legal and regulatory requirements affecting the operation of the firm
11. Leading on the escalation of higher risk matters to the Riskmittee where required, including drafting detailed and accurate briefing notes onplex topics.
What you'll need to succeed
12. You must have several years' experience working in a broad-rangingpliance role within a UK legal firm. (I am afraid that candidatesing from other sectors of the market or with experience relating only to AML will not be considered!)
13. You will have detailed knowledge of the relevant laws, regulations and codes of conduct applicable to the operation of a law firm.
14. You will have excellentmunication and report-writing skills and, ideally, some experience in coaching and team management.
