Overview
A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Housing Asset Management Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a social housing environment.
Role
Key purpose of the role is to assist the Housing Asset Management Team in the coordination and management of cost control and procedures for the repairs and investment work of the Council\'s housing stock.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for ensuring effective cost control measures are in place and budgets adhered to with regard to external and internal contracts.
* Support the Housing Asset Management Team in producing and maintaining accurate financial information in compliance with the Council\'s standing orders.
* Forecast cash flow, manage accruals, and share financial information with stakeholders.
* Review contractor valuations, verify completed works and documentation, and ensure payments are made in accordance with agreed terms.
* Assist the Housing Procurement Officer with the procurement of contracts and support the management of contract documentation and disputes.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
* A quantity surveying qualification or equivalent at HNC level or above.
* Previous experience supporting a contract management team in housing refurbishment, maintenance, or in the construction industry.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
* Strong financial reporting and cost control skills.
* Experience managing contractor relationships and handling performance disputes.
* Knowledge of procurement processes, including OJEU.
Salary
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £34 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £28 per hour PAYE).
