A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Commercial Sales Manager for the UK&IE region in the Grid Technologies Sales business, you will be responsible for managing exciting and challenging offers for our broad range of Grid Technologies Customers, with focus on Digital Grid and Service, and working closely with sales, bid management, order management and commercial project management teams. Your role will involve evaluating commercial aspects of budgetary and firm offers, analysing tender requirements, identifying and managing commercial risks, and proposing improvements as well as developing and leading internal financial projects to enhance operational excellence.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Evaluate the financial and commercial aspects of budgetary and firm offers in collaboration with the Sales, Bid Management and Commercial teams.
2. Analyse tender requirements, provide commercial guidance, ensure transparent wall-to-wall pricing, manage commercial risks and opportunities (, currency risks, payment terms, insurance, taxes), and negotiate terms and conditions in collaboration with the Sales and Bid Management teams.
3. Collaborate closely with legal, insurance, guarantees, financing, VAT, customs, compliance and other expert teams.
4. Participate in bid review meetings, provide critical input and present projects during internal approval processes (LoA).
5. Collaborate closely with Commercial Project Management (CPM) colleagues to ensure a smooth handover from bidding to execution phase.
6. Actively seek opportunities outside your comfort zone and support financial sales initiatives or improvement projects, driving digitalization, implementation of new external or internal requirements or other change projects.
7. Actively drive relationship management with customers as well as internal and external partners
What You Bring
8. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field or CIMA/ACCA qualification.
9. Proactive problem-solving skills as well as flexibility and adaptability to tackle new sales challenges and projects as they arise
10. Proven expertise in bid preparation, contract negotiation, tax compliance, financial reporting, and risk management preferred
11. Familiar with various forms of contracts (NEC, MF1,FIDIC)
12. Advanced skills in SAP and MS Office; knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
14. Ability to work effectively across functions and organizations, connecting with people at all levels, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
