A progressive and inclusive secondary school in Newcastle is seeking a thoughtful and reflective RE Teacher to join its successful Humanities faculty. This is a full-time, permanent post starting in September, ideal for either experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop in a supportive, values-driven environment.
The school has a strong commitment to developing students’ critical thinking, empathy, and cultural awareness. The RE department plays a central role in promoting respectful dialogue, ethical understanding, and global citizenship. You will be teaching KS3 and KS4 Religious Studies, with the opportunity to teach KS5 Philosophy or Ethics for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver a curriculum that covers world religions, moral issues, and philosophical enquiry

Use engaging teaching strategies to promote deep understanding and respectful debate

Support the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development (SMSC) of all students

Contribute to cross-curricular learning and enrichment events
What We’re Looking For

A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject

QTS or QTLS
*
Experience teaching RE at KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable)

A commitment to inclusive education and interfaith understanding

A reflective practitioner who inspires open-minded, thoughtful learners
