Day Operations Team Leader
Salary – Competitive
Hours – 40 hours per week Mon-Fri

As a Day Operations Team Leader at FCC Environment, you will play a pivotal role in leading the site’s day operations team at Lostock EFW, driving safety, performance, compliance, and operational excellence across the plant. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, ensuring safe operations, and identifying improvements in processes and performance.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
•Lead, coach and support the Day Operations team at Lostock
•Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards (SHEQ)
•Maintain site cleanliness and high housekeeping standards
•Investigate incidents and develop safety improvements
•Manage day-to-day waste intake and vehicle movements safely and in line with permits
•Oversee use of machinery (cranes, FLTs, loaders) across the tipping hall, IBA & Ash Hall
•Support operational budget management in line with O+M strategy
•Develop and implement operational improvements and projects
•Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to maximise performance
•Acting as a Nominated Supervisor under FCC Safety Rules within defined competence
•Flexibility to visit other FCC sites for training where required
Essential Experience
•ONC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Engineering
•A minimum of 5 years’ operational experience in Energy from Waste or similar industrial environment
•Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
•IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (or willingness to obtain)
•Excellent leadership and communication skills
•Ability to supervise and motivate a small team
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP/CMMS systems
•Experience operating or managing teams using FLTs, cranes, and other site machinery
•Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
•Commitment to continuous improvement and high safety standards
•Willingness to work flexibly across the facility
•Competency in traffic management in a busy industrial environment
