This post will be based in the Forge Centre, Neath Port Talbot. Within the Forge CMHT the multidisciplinary team includes 1 specialty doctor, 1 junior doctor, 2 team managers, 5 community psychiatric nurses, 5 social workers,1.5 community wellbeing officers, 1 occupational therapist, 1 psychologist and a part time advanced nurse practitioner trainee. There are also 1 medical secretary and 4 clerical staff. MDT working is integral to the functioning of several services, with the Local Authority Social Services team being integrated within the CMHT. Over and above MDT working within specialist teams, a strong culture of co-operative working has been established between the consultant psychiatrists and doctors. There are 5 Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), Areas 1 and 2 and then the Area 3 team cover Swansea, the Forge and Tonna CMHT provide services for Neath Port Talbot.
The current caseload for a consultant is around 110 patients and there are approximately 1,000 patients for the outpatient clinics. This role will support this caseload in order to build on their experience.

Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent

Swansea has a range of shops, cosy cafes, great restaurants, art galleries as well as being able to offer good outdoor lifestyle with its beautiful coastline and beaches on the Gower Peninsula. Swansea also has excellent sporting facilities including the Wales National pool and Swansea.com stadium home to the Ospreys and Swansea City Football Club.
