The Role
As a Recycling Process Operative, you’ll play an essential role in the efficient processing, sorting, and recycling of materials within our Recycling Department. Working closely with your line manager and colleagues, you’ll ensure the department operates smoothly and safely, maintaining the highest standards of quality and environmental compliance.
This is a hands‑on position that requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to health and safety.
What will you do
* Follow daily and weekly instructions from the Recycling Manager to complete operational tasks.
* Process and sort recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
* Operate and maintain machinery and equipment in line with training and company procedures.
* Assist with the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring correct storage and handling.
* Report any faults, unsafe conditions, or damaged equipment promptly.
* Maintain accurate housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
* Adhere to company Health & Safety policies, wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
* Work collaboratively with the team to meet recycling targets and support continuous improvement projects.

* Previous experience working in a recycling, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
* Forklift Licence (Reach, Counterbalance, or Bendy).
* Familiarity with machinery or production processes.
