The paediatric department is recruiting for a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.
This exciting post offers invaluable teaching experience and supports our vision to enhance undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in delivering teaching sessions and learn evidence-based medical education practices.
The Clinical Teaching Fellow position is based at Morriston Hospital, which hosts paediatric inpatient services. Daytime duties will involve planning and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate education.
You will also participate in a 1:10 general paediatric rota, with prospective cover.
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
Main Duties
The candidate will have access to resources and support from the medical school and will be encouraged to pursue a postgraduate qualification in medical education, with courses offered by Swansea University. Study leave will be granted for this purpose.
This role is suitable for doctors seeking formal teaching experience in a department closely linked with Swansea University Medical School. It is a full-time position, but part-time applications are also welcome.
Travel between hospital and clinic sites may be required. In exceptional circumstances, duties at other locations within the Health Board may be necessary.
You may need to deputise for absent colleagues and, in unforeseen circumstances, perform additional duties to ensure departmental safety. Compensation or off-duty time will be provided for duties outside your normal schedule.

Qualifications
* Primary medical qualification - MBBS or equivalent
* Full GMC registration (by start date)
* MRCPCH
* Knowledge of Child Safeguarding procedures and UK practices - level 3 or equivalent
* Higher degree - MSc, MPhil in a related discipline
Experience
* Completed F1, F2, CT1 and 2 Training or equivalent experience
* Completed ST3, 4 years training or equivalent experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience in paediatrics
* Experience at registrar level or equivalent in paediatrics
* Experience with child safeguarding procedures
* Experience in teaching and presenting
* Clinical experience in related paediatric specialties
* Published research in peer-reviewed journals
Skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Tact and diplomacy in working with others
* Ability to speak Welsh
